Shitty picture due to shitty phone and low light, but… I LOVE MY SNOW TIRES!! Had no issues driving 55 down the highway while everyone else went 40 or something. No loss of traction, entirely in control, just beautiful. My day in a short blurb: Wake up. Shovel driveway. Go to work. Come home. Shovel driveway again. Do it all over. I'm not even mad.

Yup! Stock suspension. May need to upgrade eventually though. 150k miles of subaruing does a number

What did you get? I need to look into snow tires myself, it's my first winter in South Dakota. Literally, I have never been so cold in my life as I was today and it'll be worse tomorrow.

I just got a set of Federal Himalayas for my Passat. Coastal CT is nowhere near as cold as *anywhere* in SD, but these tires have very good ratings, and the price on Ebay was right. $440 for all four w/free shipping.

I picked up the wheels and tires used. Tires are Hankook Icebear w300. Really nice so far.

That's not bad. I put new Continental ExtremeContact DWS' on my 530 right before we left Ohio and they've held up well so far. My Montero's tires are getting worn bald on the inside shoulders so I figured I'd just replace with good snow tires. It's my wife's go-to car when the powder starts falling because "it has 4WD, I'll be fiiiine!" At least they're cheap 235 / 75 / 15s...

Heh. "Four wheel drive... I'll be FINE"

Echoed from the ditch on the side of the road.

I know it. 4WD doesn't beat physics.

This should be printed on the driver's visor as a reminder to the vehicularly clueless.

Snow pack is best pack! That last one though, that's why I stay away from places with curbs
